Terms of Service

Understanding your rights and our commitment to permanence. Last updated October 24, 2024.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By initializing an IronLockBox vault, you agree to be bound by these terms. Our service is designed for permanent personal storage and is not intended for commercial hosting or high-frequency file sharing.

2. Permanent Storage Ownership

Storage expansions purchased via IronLockBox are one-time payments. Unlike subscription models, once you purchase a 50GB, 200GB, or 1TB pack, that storage is permanently associated with your account for the lifetime of the service, subject to these terms.

3. User Responsibility

Because IronLockBox is a zero-knowledge system, you are solely responsible for the security of your master key and recovery phrases.

Critical: If you lose your credentials, IronLockBox cannot recover your data. There is no password reset for vault content.

4. Prohibited Content

While we cannot see your files, you agree not to use IronLockBox to store or distribute content that is illegal under international law. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate our usage policies.

5. Service Availability

We strive for 99.99% availability. However, we are not liable for temporary service interruptions or data loss due to user negligence. Always maintain a backup of your master recovery keys.

6. Payments and Refunds

One-time storage pack purchases are generally non-refundable once storage has been allocated to your account, except where required by local consumer law.
